by Mary Rose 11. October 2011 14:55

Chapter 4, “Control and Manage Administrator Rights for End User Permissions” continues the Moving to a Least Privileges Environment Viewfinity eBook series.  This chapter delves into the steps that need to be taken once you have removed administrative rights from users and must ensure that you do not disrupt productivity now that end users have standard user permissions.

The previous chapter helped determine which users are running applications and processes that need to run with elevated rights, this chapter explains how to plan, setup and configure policies that implement those rights for standard users. The policies must balance the needs of the user for productivity with the principles of least privilege access.

There are a number of options that are available when defining the privilege policies in the Viewfinity console. This chapter outlines the various capabilities and considerations for using the various options in a production environment.
