Our real-time monitoring and recording of laptop, desktop and application events provides the administrator with a complete record of all changes being made on the laptop or desktop. Pinpoint Laptop & Desktop Events

When an end user calls to report a problem on his PC, the IT person accesses the desktop activity journal for the specific end user and a record of all recent desktop activities appears. The desktop activity journal GUI presents information in such a way that end users don't need to struggle with trying to explain the problem in detail. A simple explanation is all that is required before the IT person can easily search screen shots or review screen recorded video clips of desktop activity by application or keyword to pinpoint the problem.

Navigating through the Activity Recording journal is easy. The information is presented in several drillable levels. Activity events can be filtered by application, file updates, user personality events related to changes in user profile (such as changes to a desktop look and feel), system restore points or application rollback points. The filter option can also be applied by time/date settings or to a date range.

Screen Recordings of Desktop Activity

For every relevant desktop activity, Activity Recording captures screen recorded video of laptop and desktop activity including individual application events. Screen recordings of desktop activity offer another layer of explanation and confirmation related to changes occurring on the desktop. This is especially helpful when end users cannot retrace their steps or explain what may have been the initiating factor causing the problem. Starting with a basic reference point from the end user, such as "yesterday my application was working fine," simply review the screen recorded movie (recording of events) for a particular application on the previous day, and by following the highlighted circled activity indicators, all significant events will be replayed presenting a complete visual depiction of keystrokes and executable actions.

The recorded screen capture activity logs are configurable according to specific requirements. For example, if privacy is a concern for your company, the screen recording video can be disabled for specific computers. The activity logs are compressed and stored locally on the endpoint client. This architecture was designed to minimize bandwidth usage — the log file containing the stored rollback events and screen recorded video clips is only transferred to the Viewfinity server when requested by the IT administrator. Rollback event log files are customizable either on a global or computer level for a specified time period or storage capacity.
