Control Center
Overview
Control Center provides a central point for monitoring and auditing your server and desktop system events and compliance policies and rules. Control Center provides IT administrators with two unique, real-time capabilities:
Live Screens: monitors the screens of multiple desktops or servers
From a single view management console, Live Screens simultaneously monitors multiple business critical systems in real time. Through remote desktop preview panes, administrators may monitor groups of servers and desktops in real time and, when necessary, perform drill down actions such as reviewing system events for a selected host, initiating a remote control session, reviewing activity for a specific application, and retrieving asset information for a specific host.
Live Screens
Live Activity: audits system & application policies; monitors PC/servers health
IT Administrators can set up real time auditing for system and application policies and monitor the health of systems. The following activity can be captured:
- Status of Elevation Privileges policies
- Status of Application Block policies
- Major System Events such as logoff, login, shutdown
- System Event Viewer events such as errors and warnings
- Specific Application or Process events
- Application start, stop, install, uninstall events
- System performance utilization
Live Activity
Control Center for Servers
Control Center provides the ability to group mission critical server applications and monitor them in real time. For example, a special control view can be created to monitor several critical components installed on multiple servers such as IIS, SQL, Applications, etc. From a single console view, IT administrators can setup a view of remote terminals and also create a profile of desired events for which they wish to monitor application activity. Live Activity can be configured to capture specific events such as logoff/logon, unexpected reboots, application memory utilization, SQL, IIS processes, etc. Alerts can be generated to notify IT Administrators of CPU or disk usage spikes. Critical server applications are monitored in real time and if an alert is triggered, administrators can proactively take corrective action.
Control Center for Compliance Audit
Control Center Live Activity can be utilized to ensure compliance of application and system policies. Viewfinity ensures that policies have been defined and that the policies have been successfully delivered and applied. Live Activity produces a journal showing policies and how they are being used by end users. In addition, the Viewfinity Dashboard feature provides general statistics about trends regarding policy usage, such as the most frequently blocked applications and elevation privilege policies that are used the most. With Live Activity, the IT security team can quickly identify actions that may cause servers to be less secure, such as the removal of firewall software or the disabling of an anti-virus program.
